Toshiba (TAEC) is now shipping two new photocouplers for high-speed communications, the TLP2767 and TLP2367. Housed in 2.3 mm (max) low-height packages and meeting various international safety standards, including UL1577 and EN60747-5-5, they are designed for applications such as PLCs, I/O boards, PV inverters, and factory automation inverters. With maximum propagation delay times of 20 ns, pulse width distortions of 8 ns, and propagation delay skews of ±10 ns, the photocouplers can be used to reduce the dead time of various interfaces. The devices also integrate high output infrared LEDs that reduce threshold input current and a CMOS fabricated photo detector IC that reduces supply current.
The TLP2767, in SO6L package, provides 50 Mbps, 5,000 Vrms (min) isolation voltage, 8 mm of creepage/ clearance distance, and 0.4 mm isolation thickness. The TLP2367, available in 5-pin SO6, provides 5 mm (min) of creepage/ clearance distance and 3,750 Vrms isolation voltage. Both products contribute to lowering the operation voltage of equipment with supply voltage of 2.7 V to 5.5 V, at temperatures up to 125°C.

The ISL8215M, Intersil’s first 42 V single-channel dc/dc step-down power module, delivers up to 15 A of continuous current and operates from a single input voltage range that includes industry standard 12, 18 and 24 volt intermediate bus power rails. The module offers adjustable output voltages from 0.6 V to 12 V, and provides 60 mA/mm2 power density. Its 96.5% peak efficiency drives POL conversions for FPGAs, DSPs and MCUs in industrial, medical, RF communications, after-market automotive, and portable equipment that use Li-ion batteries.
The complete dc-to-dc power supply includes a controller, MOSFETs, inductor, and passive components inside a single encapsulated package. Components are mounted to a copper lead-frame structure that allows the module to operate at full load over a wide temperature range with no airflow or heatsinks. Transient response and loop stability are improved while 40 ns typical minimum on time allows single-step low duty cycle down conversions to point-of-load voltages.
The ISL8215M power module is available now in a 19 x 13 x 5.3 mm HDA package for $13.90 each/1,000. An ISL8215MEVAL1Z evaluation board is also available for $69 each.

Linear Technology’s new 25 A step-down µModule regulator, LTM4645, features the ability to current share multiple independent devices (N) where at least one LTM4645 is used as backup (+1) to ensure power availability if one device detects a fault. For example, a 75 A, 1 V load requires three LTM4645s for 75 A total. One extra LTM4645 can be added as a backup in 3+1 fashion, resulting in four LTM4645s current shared to deliver 75 A if one fails. Applications benefiting from N+1 redundancy include data centers, aerospace, banking and cloud-based systems prioritizing system safety and integrity.
The product features 4.7 V to 15 V input supply, output voltage adjustable from 0.6 V to 1.8 V, and -40°C to 125°C operating temperature range. Synchronous step-down operation offers 25 A at 1 V from 12 VIN with 86% efficiency, 3.5 W power loss, and 41°C rise (no airflow, no heat sink). Up to 6 devices can current share for 150 A of load current.
LTM4645 µModule regulators are offered in 9 x 15 x 3.51 mm BGA packaging with prices starting at $26.23 each/1,000.
